Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Daniel Ayala from Middlesbrough in the summer transfer window.

Ayala is on the books of Premier League-bound Middlesbrough at the moment, but he has been linked with a move to Championship outfit Newcastle in the summer transfer window.
According to The Daily Mail, Newcastle have made enquires for the 25-year-old central defender.
It has been reported that Boro value the former Liverpool man at £15 million, and that the Magpies have been put off by that price.

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez knows the Spanish defender well, having brought him to Liverpool back in 2007.
Ayala is one of the best players on the books of Middlesbrough and was a key figure in their successful promotion quest last season.
