Middlesbrough striker Britt Assombalonga is reportedly attracting interest from a number of clubs, including Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

Middlesbrough supporters on Twitter are in meltdown after reports suggest that they could potentially sell striker Britt Assombalonga before Thursday’s deadline.
TeamTalk claim Bristol City are trying to pull off a shock move for the 26-year-old, with Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Brighton also keeping tabs on the powerful forward.
It is said Assombalonga is unsettled at the Riverside and is keen on moving down south, with the January transfer window set to slam shut in the next 48 hours.
Over the course of the season, the DR Congo international has played 26 games in all competitions for Tony Pulis’ side, netting nine goals, seven of which have come in the league, according to transfermarkt.
Nonetheless, the Boro fans on social media were completely against the idea of their club selling their striker as they bid to earn promotion to the Premier League.
One supporter stated ‘imagine the scenes’ when the sought-after player signs for Villa, while another labelled those within their club as ‘useless’.
Here is a selection of Boro fans on Twitter reacting to reports that Assombalonga could potentially leave the club:
During his career, Assombalonga has played in the National League, League Two, League One as he is now plying his trade in the second tier of English football.
In the Championship for Forest and Boro, he has played 137 matches, finding the back of the net on 52 occasions, including playing in last season’s play-off semi-final defeat to Villa.
