Mick Quinn has told the Jim White Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 9th April, that he thinks Wayne Rooney will leave Everton if Sam Allardyce remains in charge next season.

Rooney showed dissent towards Allardyce at the weekend, when he was taken off against Liverpool.

Rooney was clearly angry at the decision, and Allardyce has since criticised the former Manchester United man’s reaction.

And Quinn believes that Rooney could be on his way out at Everton, if Allardyce remains in charge.

“I will say, that if Sam Allardyce is still there next season, I think Wayne Rooney’s days are numbered,” Quinn said.

“With Rooney on the pitch they were pedestrian. He comes too deep to help others out. He’s at his best as a number 10.”

Everton are yet to confirm whether Allardyce will be with them next season, but the calls for him to be sacked are growing louder.

Toffees supporters have criticised Allardyce’s style of play, and there has arguably been a lack of progress shown on the pitch.

Rooney is currently Everton’s top scorer this season, with 11 goals to his name, but his move back to his boyhood club hasn’t been totally successful.

Rooney’s form has been inconsistent, with question marks now lingering over whether he will be at Goodison Park for much longer.
