Sunderland and Middlesbrough both dropped out of the Premier League this past season, and want to make a swift return.

Micky Quinn has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 8th June, that Middlesbrough are more likely to be promoted than Sunderland next season.
Boro and Sunderland were both relegated from the Premier League this past term.
The North East pair endured very difficult campaigns, and were cut adrift in the relegation zone towards the end of the season.

Boro and Sunderland both have ambitions to bounce back from that disappointment, and make an immediate return to the top flight.
However, Quinn feels that Boro are far better placed to earn promotion next year.
“Middlesbrough, all day long,” the TalkSPORT pundit said, when asked if Middlesbrough or Sunderland were more likely to go up in the upcoming season.

Boro are expected to keep the bulk of their squad together, following their relegation to the Championship.
Sunderland, on the other hand, are set to have to deal with a mass exodus – with a number of first-team players likely to depart.
