Micky Quinn has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to latest reported development in Newcastle United sale process.

The Daily Mail reported late on Sunday night that Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is close to the sale of the club.

It was reported that Ashley was close to selling the Premier League club to Sheik Khaled, an Emirati member of the family who govern Abu Dhabi, for £350 million.

Then on Monday afternoon, The Chronicle claimed that Sheikh Khaled had contacted them to state that discussions with Ashley over Newcastle were going on.

Former Newcastle centre-forward Quinn has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the reported takeover talks, and he seems delighted and optimistic about the future.

Hope and optimism

Newcastle fans will hope that the takeover is completed soon so that the club can kick off their transfer business this summer.

Manager Rafael Benitez is out of contract this summer, and the St. James’ Park will want the club to hand him a new deal and be given transfer funds to bing in the players he wants.
