Newcastle had looked to be in serious trouble when they went 2-0 down against West Brom, but they showed their character to come back.
Many teams would have crumbled after falling behind, given the form, Newcastle are in – but Rafael Benitez’s men are made of sterner stuff.
Newcastle scored their first goal of the contest through Ciaran Clark, before a Matt Ritchie free-kick levelled things up.
Newcastle are now in 12th place in the Premier League – five points clear of the relegation zone.
Benitez’s side are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
