Could Newcastle United be under new ownership soon?

According to Sky Sports, Amanda Staveley has submitted a formal offer to buy Newcastle United.

It has been reported that Staveley’s PCP Capital Partners made the offer late last week to buy the Premier League club from current owner Mike Ashley.

Former Newcastle forward Micky Quinn has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to the latest development.

The 55-year-old is pleased that an offer has (reportedly) been made, and one suspects that all Newcastle fans will be happy too with this development just as some of those who responded to Quinn’s message are.
