Everton are currently in seventh place in the Premier League table.
Micky Quinn has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 10th November, that Ronald Koeman could be using Everton as a stepping stone club.
Quinn was not impressed with Koeman’s recent comments about Romelu Lukaku, where he suggested that the striker would not have failed to fulfil his potential if he stays at Everton for his entire career.
And the former Newcastle player now has doubts over whether Koeman’s heart is truly in the Everton job.
“The question I would ask if I was an Everton supporter is – is Koeman using Everton us a stepping stone? On the back of that 5-0 [defeat to Chelsea]. it could be heading in one way,” he said.
Despite Quinn’s doubts, Koeman has made an encouraging start at Everton since taking charge before the start of the season.
The Dutch boss has improved Everton’s defence, and the Merseyside club are challenging at the right end of the Premier League table.
Everton are currently in seventh place in the top flight standings, with Koeman and owner Farhad Moshiri stating that they want to challenge for Europe this term.
Everton are next in action in two weeks’ time, after the international break, when they take on Swansea City at Goodison Park.
