Former Newcastle United player-turned-pundit Micky Quinn says that the Magpies are favourites to win their Premier League clash against Brighton on Sunday.

The two sides will meet for the first time in the Premier League after getting promoted from the Championship last season.

Newcastle have recovered brilliantly after early setbacks, and are now on a three-match winning run. Needless to say, the confidence in the team is running high.

While Quinn understands that there are no easy games in the Premier League, he predicts Newcastle to win their fourth game on the trot.

He says that Newcastle are a well-organised side under Rafael Benitez, and opposition teams are struggling to cope with their counter-attacking style.

“Chris Hughton’s men will be up for it and there are no ‘easy’ games in the Premier League but, the way Rafa Benitez has Newcastle playing at the moment, I can’t see anything but a fourth win on the bounce,” wrote Quinn in his column for The Chronicle.

“Newcastle have to respect every opponent they face, including Brighton, but what is key to United keeping up their good form is just to continue doing what has already served them so well.

“The Magpies will almost certainly go to the Amex as favourites – and rightly so.”

Paul Ince looks on next to his wife Claire during the Premier League match between Huddersfield Town and Southampton at Galpharm Stadium on August 26, 2017 in Huddersfield, England.

However, according to Paul Ince, Brighton may upset the Magpies on their home turf.

Chris Hughton’s side are 17th in the Premier League, but the former Manchester United player says that they will be looking to repeat a similar result as the one against West Brom a few weeks earlier.

Ince predicts a 2-1 win for Brighton.

“This one is a really tough one to call – and I think a 1-1 draw is tempting here too – but on home turf, I think they can repeat a similar result to the one against West Brom a few weeks ago where they won 3-1 at home,” said Ince to Express.
