Liverpool would break their transfer record, if they were to snap up Naby Keita from Red Bull Leipzig.

Micky Quinn has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 6th July, that he has been informed that Liverpool have made a £50 million offer for Naby Keita of Red Bull Leipzig.

Keita is considered to be one of Jurgen Klopp’s top targets this summer, with the midfielder catching the eye in the Bundesliga last term.

Keita was one of Leipzig’s stars, with his pace and power from midfield attracting attention.

Leipzig are desperate to keep hold of Keita this summer, but Liverpool are said to be prepared to break their transfer record to bring the Guinean international to Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp is keen to strengthen his midfield options, with Keita one of his top targets.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Leipzig want £70 million for Keita, so Liverpool’s current offer would fall well short of that valuation.

Liverpool’s only signing of the summer transfer window so far has been to bring in Mohamed Salah from Roma.
