Tottenham Hotspur comfortably overcame Real Madrid on Wednesday, to maintain bragging rights over Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger, Manager of Arsenal looks on during the Carabao Cup Third Round match between Arsenal and Doncaster Rovers at Emirates Stadium on September 20, 2017 in London, England.

Micky Hazard has taken a playful dig at Arsenal in a message to Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter.

Tottenham comfortably beat the reigning European champions, Real Madrid, at Wembley on Wednesday, courtesy of two goals from Dele Alli and one from Christian Eriksen.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a late consolation for Zinedine Zidane’s team, but it was not enough to take the shine of Spurs’ performance.

And their former midfielder, Hazard, was one of many who appeared in high spirits the following morning.

“Guys enjoy your day today, hope its as good as it gets for you all but take the mrs or mum out tonight as there’s nothing on TV….. ENJOY X”, he posted, in reference to Arsenal’s game against Red Star Belgrade in Europe’s secondary continental club competition.

After 22 years spent largely in their rivals’ shadow, Tottenham are currently enjoying a period of dominance over Arsenal.

Spurs finished above the Gunners in last season’s Premier League and lead Arsene Wenger’s side by a point this time around, while also flourishing in the Champions League.

Wednesday’s win secured Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s place in the competition’s knockout stage for the first time since 2011.
