Micky Hazard has spoken highly of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele on Love Sport Radio.

The former Tottenham central midfielder was impressed with the display produced by Ndombele during the North London outfit’s 5-0 win against Red Star Belgrade at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Champions League Group B this week.

According to WhoScored, the 22-year-old France international took one shot which was on target, played three key passes, had a pass accuracy of 90.6%, took 78 touches, and made three tackles and two interceptions.

Ndombele moved to Spurs from Ligue 1 outfit Lyon in the summer of 2019 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £53.8 million.

According to WhoScored, the youngster has made five starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham so far this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the process.

So far this season, Ndombele has provided two assists in three Champions League matches for Spurs, according to WhoScored.

Hazard has suggested that Ndombele has turned the corner, and has raved about the youngster.

Hazard said about Ndombele on Love Sport Radio: “Ndombele looked a very good player and showed his true class. You don’t pay £60m for a poor footballer.

“It’s taken time to adjust to the pace of the English Premier League but now we’re seeing the benefits. His fitness levels will get better and better – looks a good signing long term.”
