Wolverhampton Wanderers are on the lookout for a new permanent manager.
Micky Gray suggested on the Football on 5: The Championship show on Channel 5 on Saturday evening (broadcast from 9pm, October 29, 2016) that Wolverhampton Wanderers should appoint either Paul Lambert or Nigel Pearson as their new permanent manager.
Wolves are looking for a new manager following the departure of Walter Zenga last month.
Zenga, who was appointed the Wanderers manager in the summer, was dismissed following a run of poor results.
Rob Edwards has been placed in charge of the first team until a permanent successor is found.
Former Wolves player Gray has suggested that the Championship club should look at either Lambert or Pearson.
“We like to see young guys being given an opportunity,” said Gray on the Football on 5: The Championship show on Channel 5 on Saturday evening (broadcast from 9pm, October 29, 2016).
“I would love to see Rob being given that opportunity, but if I was looking for maybe a little bit of experience, possibly look at somebody like Paul Lambert.
“I know Nigel Pearson will want to be trying to get back into the game as quick as he possibly can as well.”
Lambert is without a managerial job at the moment following his departure from Blackburn Rovers at the end of the 2015-16 season.
Pearson is also currently without a managerial job, having parted company with Derby County last month.
Wolves are 17th in the Championship table at the moment with 17 points from 15 matches.
The Wanderers are just three points above the relegation zone and seven behind sixth-placed Bristol City.
