Micky Gray has admitted that Sunderland have had the heart ripped out of the club, after Simon Grayson’s dismissal last night.

Sunderland decided that Grayson’s position had become untenable, following their 3-3 draw with Bolton Wanderers yesterday.

Grayson took the brunt of the supporters’ frustrations, as Sunderland failed to win at home yet again.

The Black Cats have now been victorious at the Stadium of Light in 2017, with their form worryingly poor.

Sunderland are currently in 23rd place in the Championship table, and there are genuine concerns that back-to-back relegations is a real possibility.

And Gray feels that Sunderland are in total disarray now, following Grayson’s sacking.

Who Sunderland will turn to next is not clear, but it will be a vital that they get their next appointment right.

Sunderland simply cannot waste any more time searching for the winning formula, as they have to get points on board to escape out of the drop zone in the Championship.
