Micky Gray does not expect Queen Park Rangers to get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield Wednesday player Micky Gray said on the Football on 5: The Championship show on Channel 5 on Saturday evening (broadcast from 9pm, October 29, 2016) that Queens Park Rangers will not get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.

QPR are playing in the Championship at the moment and are aiming to finish in the top six of the league table this season.

Rangers are not doing so well, as they are currently as low as 14th in the standings.

The London club have managed to pick up just 19 points from 15 matches and are five points behind sixth-placed Bristol City.

QPR are still in the running for the playoffs, but Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side have been inconsistent so far this season.

Rangers suffered a 2-0 defeat to Brentford at Loftus Road in the Championship last Friday.

Former Wolves and Sunderland player Gray has written off QPR’s chances of finishing in the top six of the Championship this season.

“Jimmy did great at Burton, but he has not really got going yet at QPR,” said Gray on the Football on 5: The Championship show on Channel 5 on Saturday evening (broadcast from 9pm, October 29, 2016).

“It is a huge club, it has been in the Premier League for a lot of years as well, they want to get back there but it is certainly not going to happen this time around.”

QPR will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Nottingham Forest away from home at the City Ground in the Championship.
