Pundits have taken to Twitter after Sunderland slipped to a second defeat in a row, losing 2-1 at home to Middlesbrough in the Tees-Wear derby.
The Black Cats were beaten 2-1 by Manchester City on the opening day of the season, and their fortunes didn’t get much better against Boro as a first-half brace from Cristhian Stuani handed Aitor Karanka’s men 2-0 lead at half time.

Sunderland did hit back through Patrick van Aanholt, but they couldn’t find an equaliser in a disappointing performance from David Moyes’ side, who again look set for a fight against relegation.
Moyes is running out of time to strengthen his squad, but Sunderland have endured a difficult summer transfer window anyway, as the Black Cats have only been able to sign Donald Love, Paddy McNair, Papy Djilobodji and Adnan Januzaj, with the squad still lacking quality.

With just over a week to go until the transfer window closes, Sunderland need to get a move on and bring players in – and pundits have been offering their opinions on how many players Moyes still needs to add.
Micky Gray, a former Sunderland left back, took to Twitter to suggest that the Black Cats need a minimum of five new signings to even give the club a chance of avoiding relegation yet again.

Rodney Marsh went even further, stating that Sunderland are ten players short of being a ‘decent side’ in the Premier League, whilst Don Hutchison noted that whilst Moyes’ men showed character in the second half against Middlesbrough, they lack real Premier League quality.
