Leicester midfielder James Maddison has been one of the best players to watch so far this season.

Former Leicester City manager Micky Adams told the Daily Star that only two English clubs would be a step up for James Maddison over Leicester City.

Maddison has been the talk of the town after an incredible start to the season for the Foxes. The 22-year-old scored the winner against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend and he could be the next player that Leicester make an enormous profit on.

The report claims that Manchester United are sniffing around the possibility of signing Maddison either in January or next summer. The Red Devils paid a world-record fee for another Leicester player in Harry Maguire a few months ago and they could have to do the same again if the 22-year-old continues his incredible form for the remainder of the season.

However, former Foxes boss Micky Adams has claimed that Maddison is better off at Leicester and said that there are only two other clubs in England who are an improvement to Leicester City.

He said: “Leicester have shown in terms of wages and ambition that they’re as good as anyone.

“Maddison would have to go to Manchester City or a Liverpool to improve on what he’s got at Leicester.

“As a young man, he’s just got to keep developing his game and working hard. He must not listen to the hype or get ahead of himself. That’s the time it bites you on the backside as a footballer.”

Leicester are well clear of Manchester United in third place. If Brendan Rodgers continues to rally his troops like he has been doing since his appointment, the Foxes have a massive chance of breaking into the top six, if not one of the Champions League places.
