Well, Tottenham Hotspur won’t be winning the FA Cup this season either.

Spurs were dumped out of the competition by Everton on Wednesday night but, to be fair, it was a tie that could’ve gone either way.

Jose Mourinho’s side lost 5-4 at Goodison Park after the tie ended 4-4 in regulation.

Bernard’s strike on 97 minutes proved to be enough to see off Tottenham in the end on a night when Mourinho’s troops repeatedly shot themselves in the foot defensively.

And club legend Micky Hazard believes that goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was responsible for at least two of the goals – Bernard’s winner and Richarlison’s second.

Hazard might have a point but to be fair, Lloris has arguably been one of Mourinho’s best consistent players since the Portuguese arrived in November of 2019.

The former Lyon star, a £12 million signing in 2012, does look to be a far better goalkeeper now than he was during the final year or 18 months under Mauricio Pochettino.

And therefore his performance last night needs to be put in perspective.
