Mick Quinn has reacted to the latest delay in the takeover of Newcastle United.
Buying the Magpies is swiftly turning into a bit of a saga for Amanda Staveley and Saudi’s Public Investment Fund.
They’re poised to buy Newcastle for £300 million but the Premier League is yet to greenlight the deal after receiving a new piece of evidence in regards to the allegations of broadcast piracy.
And The Daily Mail reported on Sunday morning that there’s now ‘new doubts’ over whether it’ll go through after Premier League clubs ‘expressed reservations’ over the deal.
The top-flight league’s board have taken over a month to okay the takeover, and the club’s former striker Quinn has expressed his own frustration over the delays.
Here’s what he wrote on Twitter on Sunday:
Newcastle fans are desperate to see the end of Ashley, who has been a villainous figure since buying the club in 2007.
Under the Saudi group, who would own 80 percent of the club, there’s a promise of a much brighter future in the North-East and you can see why Quinn is getting irked.
