Newcastle United have made five signings throughout the summer transfer window to date.
Quinn had felt that Newcastle could push towards mid-table on their first season back in the Premier League.
However, after the Magpies’ rather uninspiring summer transfer business, Quinn feels that his former side could now struggle.

“I’ve reversed my decision, I thought they’d finish mid way,” he said. “I don’t think they’ll go down. I think it’s hovering [above the relegation zone].”
Newcastle have brought in five new players this summer, with Jacob Murphy, Javier Manquillo, Florian Lejeune, Christian Atsu and Mikel Merino all signing up.
While the quintet do strengthen Rafael Benitez’s options, there was an expectation that Newcastle would bring in more quality this summer.
Benitez, himself, has admitted that Newcastle would like to snap up more players before the end of the transfer window, and unless more fresh faces are brought to St. James’ Park there is a fear that the Tyneside club could struggle.
Newcastle get their season under way next weekend, when they take on Tottenham Hotspur.
