The Magpies legend was unhappy as his former side lost 2-1 in injury time of the Premier League clash at St James’ Park.

Mick Quinn has bemoaned Newcastle United’s late 2-1 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.

Ayoze Perez’s 23rd-minute header had pulled Newcastle level after Diogo Jota gave Wolves an early lead and the score was 1-1 heading into injury time.
However, deep into the added minutes, Matt Doherty headed home after Martin Dubravka had parried Jota’s effort and Wolves ended up taking all three points.
It proved a controversial end to the match as, earlier on, Magpies defender DeAndre Yedlin was sent off and Newcastle had a penalty claim rejected.
Indeed, Rafa Benitez was left fuming at what he saw unfold and ended up calling for VAR to be introduced to the Premier League, according to his post-match interview with BBC Sport.
