Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has suggested to Green’Un24 that he is not sure about the future of Tottenham Hotspur-owned Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Carter-Vickers joined Championship club Ipswich on loan from Premier League side Tottenham in the January transfer window.

The 20-year-old defender, who spent the first half of the season at Championship side Sheffield United, is scheduled to remain at Portman Road until the end of the season.

Ipswich boss McCarthy has admitted that he is not sure what the future holds for Carter-Vickers.

McCarthy told Green’Un24: “I don’t know, because there will be interest in Bersant, of course there will be.

“Cameron Carter-Vickers, I don’t know there, and I think everyone will take them all on pre-season.”

Back to Tottenham Hotspur?

Carter-Vickers is a very talented and promising young defender, but the USA international will find it hard to break into the Tottenham first team if he goes back to the North London outfit in the summer of 2018.

The 20-year-old, who can played a total of 630 minutes of Championship football for Ipswich so far this season, would be wise to remain at Portman Road for at least the first half of next season or join another club on a temporary deal.
