Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has signalled his intent to speak to the club’s loanees Toumani Diagouraga and Emyr Huws over potential permanent moves from Leeds United and Cardiff City respectively.
Both midfielders have proved important to the Tractor Boys since joining the club on loan in January and speaking to the East Anglia Daily Times the Ipswich boss made it clear discussions would be had:
“I’m not thinking about that (signing players) at the moment. I just want to get through the last two games to be quite honest with you.
“Toums (Toumani Diagouraga) has done well, as has Emyr (Huws). They helped steady the ship for a while and have both been good for us. I’ll talk to them.”

The French midfielder was initially signed by Steve Evans last season but fell out of favour quickly with new manager Garry Monk. The new Leeds boss completed deals for Liam Bridcutt and Eunan O’Kane in the summer whilst also placing his faith in youngsters Ronaldo Vieira and Kalvin Phillips.

Diagouraga even told the EADT earlier in the year that he saw no future at Elland Road.
Huws joined Cardiff City in the summer but a change of manager also saw him fall out of favour. The Welsh international has been a big hit at Portman Road however and McCarthy is aiming to bring him in permanently as well.
