The reported Tottenham Hotspur target has a superb record when coming off the bench.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of strikers already this summer and the list only looks like growing in the weeks ahead.
One man who is regularly tipped to move to White Hart Lane is Marseille forward Michy Batshuayi, and while the Telegraph recently claimed Tottenham face considerable competition for the Belgian’s signature, there is one previously unmentioned reason why he would be perfect for them.

We all know Batshuayi is effective in front of goal, as his 23 strikes last season proved, but what has not been talked about is his impact when coming off the bench.
The problem for Tottenham is they have such an effective spine that any new additions will have to either be considerably better than what they already have or be willing to bide their time.
At 22, Batshuayi can afford to be a little more patient than others, but perhaps most importantly his impact from the bench has been superb in the last two years.

In fact, the alleged Tottenham target has the joint best goal-scoring record as a substitute in Europe’s top five leagues over the last two seasons.
With nine goals from the bench Batshuayi is level with Sevilla’s Kevin Gameiro and that is a very big reason for Tottenham to see him as the ideal summer signing.
With Harry Kane the undisputed number one in North London, Batshuayi could be used not only as a strike partner or an alternative but also as a super sub. And as Tottenham discovered to their cost this season, such a rare commodity can be vital in the chase for silverware.
