The Chelsea hitman has been out on loan at Crystal Palace since deadline day in January, and he finished off his season with two more goals in a 5-3 win over Bournemouth.
Batshuayi, 25, ended his loan spell with six goals in 13 games in all competitions for Palace, showing that he’s got the ability to become a regular goalscorer in the Premier League away from Chelsea.
The Blues’ transfer ban may impact matters, but Batshuayi has barely featured at Stamford Bridge, and a summer move will surely be on the cards anyway for the Belgian ace.
Having scored regularly for Palace, Batshuayi has shown exactly why Everton should be making their move. His Valencia loan spell just didn’t work out, but doubts over his suitability for the Premier League have been eased.
£40million is still a considerable fee, but Batshuayi is of a good age, and if Everton can get him back to the form that made him a star at Marseille and Borussia Dortmund, he could be a masterstroke signing for Brands and co.
