Tottenham’s Michel Vorm
Tottenham goalkeeper Michel Vorm has given his take on Pau Lopez’ imminent arrival at the club, in quotes published by the Ham & High.
The London Evening Standard reported that the Espanyol stopper was due to undergo a medical this weekend ahead of a loan switch to Spurs, but Vorm doesn’t feel his position is under threat.
When asked for his thoughts on whether the Spaniard’s arrival would affect his status at the club, Vorm replied:
“No, to be honest,” he said. “For me, it’s no change.”

The Dutchman was thrust into centre-stage following Hugo Lloris’ injury on the opening day of the season, and he has responded excellently.
James Milner’s penalty on Saturday marked Vorm’s first conceded goal this season and a number of fantastic one-on-one saves have bolstered fans’ confidence in their backup keeper.

Lopez is seen as a future number one but it is unclear whether he would immediately jump ahead of Vorm in the pecking order upon his arrival.

The 21-year old was the main man between the sticks for Espanyol last term and it’s unlikely he would be content to play the role of third-choice keeper at Spurs.
Yet Vorm’s inspired performances have re-energised a stalling Spurs career and perhaps convinced Mauricio Pochettino of the merits of keeping him around for a while yet.
