Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
Michel Salgado has suggested on talkSPORT that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli could struggle to cope with the pressure of playing for Real Madrid.
Alli is one of the best young players in the Premier League and is in good form for Tottenham at the moment.
The 20-year-old midfielder could develop into a world-class footballer in the coming years.
The former Milton Keynes Dons youngster has been linked with a move to Madrid, with The Express reporting last month that the Spanish giants are lining up a £50 million move for him in the summer transfer window.
Madrid legend Salgado, who is 41 years of age, believes that Alli could struggle to cope with the pressure to play for Los Blancos.
“Obviously they can pursue him because he’s a great player, he’s young, he’s got ability and he’s got pace, too,” Salgado told talkSPORT.
“But the price is too high, Real Madrid paid big money to Tottenham for Gareth Bale and now if they paid that money for Dele Alli it would be crazy.
“My question is can he cope with pressure of playing for Madrid, which is going to be so many times more than at Tottenham.
“Quality on the pitch he’s got it, but at the moment I don’t know what’s going to happen and hopefully if they do sign him the price will be a little bit cheaper.”
Alli has scored 11 goals and created 31 chances in 24 Premier League appearances for Tottenham so far this season.
During the 2015-16 campaign, the England international midfielder scored 10 goals and created 55 chances in 33 league matches for Spurs.
Tottenham are third in the Premier League table at the moment with 50 points from 25 matches, 10 points behind leaders and London rivals Chelsea.
