West Ham United failed to live up to expectations this season.

West Ham ace Michail Antonio sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and summed up his side’s season in just three words.

The Hammers were incredibly inconsistent this season, although they did finish up in fine fashion, winning their last three league games, and climbing into 10th spot in the process.

Considering how much money they spent last summer, however, the West Ham fans expected much more from their side.

Having had a year to implement his ideas and philosophies, however, Manuel Pellegrini will surely be confident that his side will make drastic improvements next term.

Antonio spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and responded when asked to give his verdict on West Ham’s season:

“Up and down!”

West Ham will surely be very active during the upcoming transfer window, and Pellegrini will be looking to strengthen in every department of his squad.

Quite who the Chilean will be targeting, however, remains to be seen.

One thing is clear, though, West Ham need to spend heavily if they are to mix it with the big boys next season.
