West Ham United forward Michail Antonio is facing another spell on the sidelines.

Michail Antonio has confirmed on Instagram that he will be out of action for West Ham for the ‘next few months’ as he is aiming to come back ‘stronger and fitter than ever’.
The 29-year-old has suffered his fair share of injuries over the years, as he is set for another spell on the sidelines following his hamstring injury which he suffered against Newport in the League Cup last month.
Antonio’s absence does mean that West Ham will be that bit lighter in attack, but they have still have a plethora of attacking talent at their disposal and that was proven when Andriy Yarmolenko, who had just returned from a long-term injury, netted before the international break.
Nonetheless, this was Antonio’s message to West Ham fans, as posted on his personal Instagram account, with the likes of Troy Deeney and Adrian responding to his message.
“I just want to thank everyone for their get well soon wishes,” Antonio told his followers on Instagram. “I had an operation yesterday, which is going to keep me out for the next few months.
“I also want to wish the boys good luck for the next few months until I can get back and help push us to where we are trying to finish for the season. I am now on the road to recovery and I am going to do everything to get myself fitter and stronger than I ever was.”

It is a shame for Antonio because when he has been on the pitch fit and ready, he has been a serious threat for the Hammers.
However, in recent seasons, injuries continue to hamper his progress and ability to showcase his true worth to his supporters.
Nonetheless, in his absence, West Ham have picked up a bit of form and rhythm and they will be hoping that continues when they take on Aston Villa after the international break.
Striker Sebastian Haller, who was a big-money summer signing, is beginning to find his feet at the London club as he will be hoping to add consistency to his game.
