West Ham United star Michail Antonio has admitted that he rates Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison because of his celebrations.

This has been a frustrating season for Richarlison.

Signed for £60million from Everton last summer, Richarlison was supposed to really help Tottenham’s attack.

The Brazilian has failed to really nail down a starting spot in the Tottenham side though and his goalscoring situation has been bizarre.

Richarlison only scored his first Premier League goal of the season on Sunday, heading Tottenham level against Liverpool.

Finally, the 25-year-old had his first Premier League goal for Tottenham at the 23rd time of asking.

The 25-year-old reacted wildly, taking his shirt off and celebrating in front of the travelling Tottenham fans.

In fairness to Richarlison, Tottenham had been 3-0 down and somehow pulled it back to 3-3.

Unfortunately, there was still time for Liverpool to go down the other end and fire a dramatic winner through Diogo Jota.

Richarlison looked dumbfounded but there is something unfortunate happening every time he finds the net for Spurs.

Michail Antonio has a laugh about Richarlison’s celebrations

Some will remember when Richarlison found the net against Fulham earlier in the season and again celebrated by taking off his shirt.

Richarlison had the rather embarrassing moment of realising he was offside, then having to put his shirt back on again.

Then there was a goal against Nottingham Forest as Richarlison appeared to be shushing manager Antonio Conte.

Again, the offside flag went up and Richarlison was left rather embarrassed.

This unfortunate run of luck has tickled West Ham star Michail Antonio, who has been speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast with Callum Wilson.

Antonio couldn’t stop laughing about Richarlison’s luck, even pointing out that his goal against Liverpool on Sunday was so nearly offside.

Antonio admitted that he rates Richarlison because he just doesn’t care – he will take his shirt off and celebrate wildly no matter what, even if there is a chance of the flag going up.

“He’s scored four times this season. Three of the times, he’s been offside – he’s taken his top off four times this season! Even his goal the other day was so close to being offside!”

“This man, I swear to you, I rate him because he doesn’t care at all. You’ve done it four times this season, three times of the four, you’ve been offside. You’ve taken your top off three times of the four and been offside, going nuts. I rate him!” said Antonio.
