Michail Antonio has admitted to the London Evening Standard that he wasn’t enjoying his football at West Ham United.

West Ham have been in poor form recently, and their lack of victories has frustrated Antonio.

The powerful wide-man now admits that many of the Hammers squad were not enjoying playing, prior to the international break.

West Ham were taken on a controversial trip to Miami earlier this week, where they were put through their paces in some warm weather training.

And Antonio is hoping that the time away from England can help West Ham’s players gel.

“It’s just one of those things, we’ve been struggling in the League so far and you come in and you’re not really enjoying the football because we’ve not been winning,” the £7 million signing from Nottingham Forest said.

“So the gaffer decided to take us away, allow us to gel and become that solid team that we were in seasons before.

“Hopefully with the trip we can come back and keep pushing on.”

West Ham were beaten 3-0 by Burnley in their last game after the international break, to increase the pressure on them.

The Hammers have now been dragged right back into the relegation fight, with frustrations mounting at the London Stadium.

West Ham are next in action when they take on fellow strugglers Southampton in two weekends’ time, in what looks as if it could be a season defining game for both sides.
