Sheffield United secured their promotion to the Championship on Saturday afternoon. Chris Wilder’s side got the better of Northampton Town 2-1 away from home at the Sixfields Stadium.

United will actually win the League One title if they pick up four points from their final four games of the campaign.

The Blades will feature in the Championship next season after a six-year absence.

United fans are understandably delighted with the team’s success, and well-known Sheffield Wednesday fan Michael Vaughan has congratulated them.

The former England international cricketer has also praised United manager Chris Wilder, but he has claimed that the Blades should not celebrate too much as they have not won the Premier League title.

Wednesday are in the Championship at the moment, but they may not be in the division next season as they could get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.

The Owls are sixth in the Championship table at the moment with 69 points from 41 matches.
