Michael Vaughan has claimed on social networking site Twitter that Sheffield Wednesday are in danger of getting relegated to League One at the end of the season.

The former England international cricketer made the claim following Wednesday’s 4-0 defeat to Bristol City away from home at the Ashton Gate in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

The defeat at City means that the Owls are now 17th in the league table with 37 points from 35 matches, seven points above the relegation zone.

Former England international cricketer Vaughan, who is a well-known Wednesday fan, believes that Jos Luhukay’s side are in a relegation scrap.

Wednesday do have a decent gap between themselves and the bottom three at the moment, but the Owls are still in danger of going down.

The Owls, though, do have a good team and some very good players, and it is a matter of whether the players can come together and step up their game in the final weeks of the season.
