Celtic will kick off their 2017-18 Champions League campaign on Tuesday evening when they take on Paris Saint-Germain at Celtic Park.

This is the second successive season in which the Glasgow giants will feature in the group stage of Europe’s premier club competition.

The Hoops have been drawn in a tough group. Bayern Munich, PSG and Anderlecht are the other three teams in Group B.

Brendan Rodgers’s side will head into the match against French powerhouse PSG at home on Tuesday evening as underdogs.

Not many will expect the Bhoys to even earn a point from the encounter against a team boasting world-class footballers such as Neymar, Edinson Cavani, Marco Verratti, Thiago Silva and Angel Di Maria.

Michael Stewart, though, has suggested a way in which Celtic can shock the footballing world and pick up maximum points against PSG at Celtic Park on Tuesday evening.

Former Manchester United and Hibernian midfielder Stewart has advised the Hoops to put in crosses.

“The key for me is width,” Stewart wrote in The Scottish Sun. “I can see Celtic keeping things simple when they don’t have the ball.

“They’ll try and make it hard for PSG to open them up, as they should, then hit on the break. If they can get James Forrest and Patrick Roberts in behind their full-backs they can have real joy.

“And I genuinely believe they can have success by getting crosses into the box. I realise that sounds like a sweeping generalisation, that European teams don’t deal with crosses.

“But I have seen it happen time and again in this competition and if PSG show weakness in that area, Celtic have the players who can make the most of it.”
