Celtic midfielder Scott Allan would be a good replacement for John McGinn at Hibernian, says Michael Stewart.

Scotland international midfielder McGinn has joined Aston Villa in the Championship in England from Scottish Premiership side Hibernian this summer.
Former Hibernian midfielder Stewart believes that 26-year-old Scottish midfielder Allan would be a good signing for Neil Lennon’s team.
Stewart wrote in The Scottish Sun: “Scott Allan could go a long way to filling the huge John McGinn-sized hole in Hibs’ midfield right now.
“Whether or not Celtic are willing to allow that to happen, on the other hand, remains to be seen.”
Stewart added: “You can already see Mallan is technically very good and he is a real threat from long range.
“In time I can see him emerging as the natural successor to McGeouch in the middle of the park.
“But Allan is the one who really moves the needle for me and I imagine Lenny feels the same way.”

Celtic struggles
Allan has struggled to make an impact at Celtic since his move from Hibernian in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Record to be worth £275,000.
The 26-year-old has had loan spells at Rotherham United, Dundee and Hibernian from Celtic since 2016.
The former Scotland Under-21 international spent the second half of last season on loan at Hibs, and it would make sense for the former Dundee United and West Bromwich Albion man to return to his former club in the summer transfer window.
