Sheyi Ojo of Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers made headlines for comments about Celtic.

Michael Stewart has written in The Scottish Sun that Rangers boss Steven Gerrard will be ‘dismayed’ with Sheyi Ojo over comments he made about Celtic recently.
Earlier this week, the Gers winger, who helped Gerrard’s side to a 5-0 win over Aberdeen last weekend, claimed that he and his team-mates were better than the Hoops.
Ojo made headlines for a similar claim before the season started, insisting that Rangers were a stronger outfit than Celtic, who have won three successive domestic trebles in Scotland.
And Stewart wrote in The Scottish Sun that repeating the remark is simply ‘crazy’ by the 22-year-old, who is on a season-long loan from Liverpool.
He said: “Ojo’s boast that they are better than Celtic did his team-mates no favours whatsoever. On the one hand I get it. He’s just a young kid on loan from Liverpool enjoying himself up here.
“But claiming your side are the best in Scotland before a ball is kicked is one thing. Repeating it — even if it’s something he happens to genuinely believe — was crazy.”
Stewart is right. There was no benefit to Rangers in saying what Ojo did. It simply piles more pressure on the Ibrox outfit to stop Celtic from winning nine-in-a-row.
Some might argue that Gerrard’s side need pressure, which is true to a certain extent, but it’s much better if they’re allowed to go about their business in a quiet and consistent manner, keeping the spotlight on Neil Lennon on the other side of the Old Firm divide.
As things stand, the Bhoys are one point ahead of the light Blues in the Scottish Premiership.
