Celtic defender Kieran Tierney’s performance for Scotland against the Netherlands impressed former Rangers youth team player Michael Stewart.

Former Manchester United and Scotland international midfielder Michael Stewart has praised Celtic defender Kieran Tierney on social networking site Twitter.
Tierney featured for Scotland in the friendly international match against the Netherlands at the Pittodrie Stadium on Thursday evening.
A left-back by trade, the 20-year-old was deployed as a centre-back against the Dutch, and the youngster gave a good account of himself.
Former Hibernian midfielder Stewart, who was a youth player at Celtic’s Old Firm rivals Rangers, was impressed with the performance of Tierney.

Tierney is one of the best young defenders in Europe, and the Celtic youngster’s performance at centre-back on Thursday once again demonstrated his quality.
The youngster is one of the best left-backs in Europe, and the way he is playing as a central defender is only going to be beneficial for him in the long run.
Memphis Depay’s goal in the 40th minute proved to be the difference between Scotland and the Netherlands, as the Dutch won 1-0.
