Neil Lennon made a return to Celtic when Brendan Rodgers left his managerial post for Leicester City’s in February.

Michael Stewart has claimed that Neil Lennon has ‘revitalised’ Celtic since it became ‘stale’ during the latter end of Brendan Rodgers’ tenure at Parkhead.
The BBC Sport pundit also stated that Celtic have this level of ‘energy’, ‘pace’ and ‘dynamism’ about them, which seemingly went missing just before Rodgers left for Leicester City in February.
When Lennon initially replaced Rodgers, it was for a temporary basis, but when he was officially named manager for the second time, it received a mixed reaction from the fans.
But speaking to Sportsound on BBC Radio Scotland (28/10/19), Stewart praised Lennon for winning over the fans, as he stated that aside from a few games, Celtic have been ‘tremendous’ since the start of the campaign.
“You take away those two away games against Hibs and Livingston,” Stewart told BBC Sportsound. “It’s been an absolutely tremendous start to the season, domestically for Celtic.
“And then you look at the European side of it, only really that Cluj game away in the Champions League qualifiers. So, three games out of the start of the season, and everything else, not just grinding out results, they have been playing really well, like really well.

“There was a bit of trepidation from the Celtic fans at the start of the season about whether Neil Lennon was the guy they wanted. To come in and deliver that ninth straight title, and deliver that football they had become accustomed to under Brendan Rodgers.
“You have got to say I think he has revitalised the team. The last part of the season when Rodgers was in charge, things started to go a little bit stale. Neil Lennon has come in, the energy, the pace, the dynamism of the side. I think it has been a very impressive start by Celtic.”
Celtic will be hoping to continue their charge at the top of the Scottish Premiership table when they welcome St Mirren to Parkhead on Wednesday night.
The Bhoys are sitting top of the table on goal difference, as their recent performances have seen them put 10 past their previous two league opponents.
Another dominating performance here, especially from an attacking sense, will only send out another message of intent from Lennon’s men.
