Rangers ace Daniel Candeias was sent off during the Gers’ 2-0 win over St. Mirren.

Michael Stewart has told BBC Sportscene that referee Willie Collum’s decision to send off Rangers winger Daniel Candeias is a “shambles” and a “disgrace”.
Rangers earned a 2-0 win over newly-promoted St. Mirren in Paisley thanks to goals from half-time substitute Candeias and striker Alfredo Morelos, pushing them into third place in the Scottish Premiership.
However, the win was somewhat tarnished with controversial incidents of Craig Samson and Morelos being victims of more coin throwing, while Collum decided to hand Candeias a second yellow for an incident with Samson and Anton Ferdinand.
Replays show Candeias teasing St. Mirren after Morelos’ injury-time goal, before Samson and Ferdinand had words with the Portuguese winger. Ferdinand reacted somewhat aggressively, but Collum decided to hand Candeias a second yellow.
“It’s beggars belief what Willie Collum has seen, it’s a shambles,” Stewart said. “It’s guesswork. What is most ridiculous about it, is that it is two yellow cards and he can’t even appeal it.
“It’s absolute madness. Candeias has done nothing there. Ferdinand has come over and tried to be a bit aggressive, it’s handbags. But Candeias has done nothing. It’s a shambles of a booking, a disgrace.”
Candeias’ sending off is Rangers’ fifth red card of the season already under Steven Gerrard, with Morelos receiving his marching orders twice already. Jon Flanagan and Ross McCrorie have also seen red.
The win, though, does push Rangers into the top three and five points behind leaders Hearts with a game in hand over Craig Levein’s side. Focus switches to the Europa League, as Rangers travel to Russia to face Spartak Moscow on Thursday night.
