Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur are challenging Liverpool and Manchester City for the Premier League title this season.
Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has said on BT Sport that Tottenham Hotspur fans need to change their attitude.
Owen, who now works as a pundit for BT Sport, believes that Tottenham fans need to realise that they have a proper team who can challenge the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United for the Premier League title.
“Spurs fans need to change their attitude, I think,” Owen said on BT Sport. “All the time you hear ‘oh, we are Tottenham, we always throw it away at the end’.
“It’s just such a negative type of attitude. I think Spurs fans need to realise that they are a proper, proper team, start believing that they are going to win because I think that transmits onto the pitch.”

Tottenham Hotspur have not won the title in England in the Premier League era, and there is an argument to be made about their lack of experience in terms of winning major titles.
However, it cannot be denied that Spurs do have a strong team who have challenged for the Premier League title for the past few seasons, and perhaps the fans need to start believing in the team more.
True, Liverpool and City are ahead of them in the Premier League table at the moment, but Tottenham can catch the duo and move ahead if they put together a run of positive results and get some luck on the way.
