Liverpool legend Michael Owen predicts the result of the Premier League clash between Chelsea and Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool legend Michael Owen cannot see anything but a ‘comprehensive’ victory for Chelsea against Aston Villa in the Premier League today.
The Blues will head into the clash at Stamford Bridge with 13 points from five matches, and the former England international striker expects them to pick up yet another home win.
‘Villa are a better side on the road than at home but they were easily brushed aside by Arsenal last weekend and I can’t see them gaining a third successive PL away win’, the 34-year-old wrote on Betvictor.
‘Diego Costa (11) has had more shots on target than the Villa (8) side put together and I can’t see past a comprehensive home success’.
It is hard to disagree with Owen’s prediction. Despite Diego Costa’s threat being nullified by the Manchester City defenders at the Etihad Stadium last weekend, the Spain international remains the most potent striker in the Premier League at the moment.
The former Atletico Madrid star will be a real threat to Villa today, with Chelsea determined to return to winning ways in the league.
Chelsea have been the best team in the English top flight so far this season, with the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard on fire. It will be nothing less than an upset if Villa were to pick up all three points today.
