Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has suggested on Betvictor.com that West Bromwich Albion summer signing Nacer Chadli could be a major threat to Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

West Brom will face Tottenham at The Hawthorns in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Chadli is likely to start for the Baggies, having joined Tony Pulis’s side from Spurs in the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, has been in good form for West Brom so far this campaign.

The Belgium international has scored three goals and created seven chances in four Premier League matches for the Baggies so far this season.

Former Newcastle United striker Owen has suggested that Chadli could be a main threat to Tottenham.

“The last time Tottenham made a better start to the season in top-flight English football was back in the 1960/61 season when they won the title!” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

“Former Spurs player Nacer Chadli has made a good start to his Albion career and he could be the main threat to a Spurs side who continue to impress.”

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Under 2.5 goals at 31/40.”

Chadli will be determined to prove to Tottenham that they were wrong to let him go in the summer transfer window.

The Belgian attacker is certainly going to be looking to play to the best of his ability against Spurs.

Tottenham are second in the Premier League table at the moment, while West Brom are currently ninth in the standings.
