Michael Owen has said that Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez could become a top-class player in the future.
The former Liverpool striker has said on Premier League Productions that Darwin Nunez has a lot of potential.
Owen, though, has noted the flaws in the game of the 24-year-old striker.
The pundit believes that if the Uruguay international continues to improve and add facets to his game, then he will fulfil his potential.
Owen said: ”I think Darwin Nunez has the potential to be top class for Liverpool, but he has gaps in his game as well.
“His timing and striking of the ball in the air is to perfection; in contrast, when it’s on the ground, I’ve seen a lot of scuffed shots.
“He’s a great player when the ball is in the air.
“He’s very direct but he also needs to change the angle sometimes, and work on his decision-making.”
Darwin Nunez could be massive for Liverpool
We believe that Darwin Nunez could be a star for Liverpool in the coming years.
As Michael Owen notes, the 24-year-old is not the finished article yet.
He still needs to polish his game.

And we believe that under manager Jurgen Klopp, Nunez will do so.
We all talk about Mohamed Salah and his world-class goalscoring prowess.
We should not forget that it was only after joining Liverpool and working under Klopp and his coaching staff that he exploded.
Salah scored 15 goals in 29 Serie A starts for Fiorentina in 2016-17 and scored 14 goals in 32 Serie A starts for the Italian club in 2015-16.
The Egyptian forward banged in 32 goals in 34 Premier League starts in 2017-18 and has not looked back ever since.
Nunez could have a similar trajectory.
The striker has made 33 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
Nunez has scored 11 goals and given four assists in those games.
