
Michael Owen has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the penalty incident during Liverpool’s game today, pointing out that Mohamed Salah had a similar decision go in his favour against West Ham United.
Liverpool played out a 1-1 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion away from home in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Late in the game, Andy Robertson was adjudged to have committed a foul on Danny Welbeck. The referee checked the incident on the pitchside monitor and decided to award the Seagulls the spot kick, which they scored.
Former Liverpool striker Owen was following the match, and he believes that it was a soft penalty.
The former England international striker has also pointed out that Liverpool forward Salah got a similar penalty against West Ham this season when he went down after a tackle from Arthur Masuaku, as reported by talkSPORT.
