Michael Owen has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United having a goal controversially ruled out against Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Newcastle have played out a goalless draw with Palace at home this afternoon.

The Magpies had the ball in the back of the net, but it was ruled out due to a perceived foul.

Joe Willock was adjudged to have committed a foul on Vicente Guaita, as Tyrick Mitchell put the ball into his own net.

However, replays showed that Mitchell appeared to push Willock into the Palace goalkeeper

Former Newcastle striker Owen believes that the goal for Eddie Howe’s side should have stood, as you can from his tweet below.

Michael Owen on Newcastle United v Crystal Palace controversy

Newcastle United will feel disappointed that the decision did not go their way.

The goal could have proved to be massive and could have won them the game.

The Magpies are doing well at the moment, and the St. James’ Park faithful should be pleased with the team’s overall performance so far this season.
