Rangers manager Steven Gerrard’s success at Ibrox has drawn attention and praise from his former Liverpool teammate Michael Owen on social networking site Twitter.
Ibrox club Rangers have progressed to the group stage of the Europa League this season with Liverpool legend Gerrard in charge.
The former Liverpool and England international midfielder was appointed as the Rangers manager in the summer.
Former England and Newcastle United striker Owen played with Gerrard at Liverpool and for the Three Lions, and he is pleased to see the 38-year-old succeed at the Gers.
Owen has also stated on Twitter that he is looking forward to watching Gerrard’s Rangers take on Old Firm rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership this weekend.

Meanwhile, Steven Thompson has praised Rangers for their performance against FC Ufa in the Europa League playoff tie.
The Scottish Premiership side have won the two-legged tie 3-1 over aggregate to book their place in the group stage of the competition.
Former Rangers striker Thompson was following the second leg on Thursday evening, and he was impressed with Gerrard’s ream.
Thompson told BBC Sport towards the end of the game (16:52): “Rangers are throwing their bodies on the line.
“They’ve shown very impressive fitness levels after being down to nine men. The desire from the Rangers players to get through this tie has been incredible.”
