The strike atoned for his unfortunate role in Celtic going 2-1 up, as he deflected Kieran Tierney’s cross in for an own goal.
Former England international Michael Owen commented on Twitter regarding Sterling’s display, and made the point that he feels the winger is back to showing the sort of form which made him a star at Liverpool.
It was a combination of Sterling’s displays for Liverpool and his potential which led to Manchester City spending £49 million on his signature last year.

Sterling has four Premier League goals in six games and two assists already this season.
He had an underwhelming 2015/16 season and an even worse Euro 2016, but has turned his form around under the tutelage of new Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
For Manchester City it is looking like the money might be well spent after all, and while Liverpool are happy to have the cash, it is looking a little less like they ripped City off by selling at the high price they did.
