Michael Owen has praised Liverpool winger Luis Diaz on BT Sport 1 (8:41pm, February 10, 2022) for his performance against Leicester City at Anfield on Thursday evening.
The former Liverpool striker has said that he was impressed by Diaz after just 15 minutes, as Liverpool won 2-0 against Leicester in the Premier League.
The Colombia international winger made his first start for Liverpool since joining the Reds from FC Porto in the January transfer window.
Diaz was taken off late in the game.
Owen said about Diaz on BT Sport 1 (8:41pm, February 10, 2022): “We were just drooling over him after just 15 minutes.
“He looks quick, he looks lively, he looks like he presses the ball, he doesn’t mind committing players, running at them and beating them.
“I think he looks like a Liverpool player, he really does look like a Liverpool player.”

How did Luis Diaz play for Liverpool v Leicester?
In our view, Diaz was very good for Liverpool and gave a good account of himself.
The 25-year-old started ahead of Mohamed Salah.
Now, of course, Diaz is not at the level of Salah – yet – but we think that the former Porto star did well.
The Colombian started the game brightly and was very quick on the ball.
Diaz seemed to connect well with his teammates and had a good chance to score as well.
The winger took four shots and two of them were on target, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 90.9%, won two headers, took 68 touches, attempted five dribbles, and put in four crosses.
