The Leeds United striker was reportedly spat at by Millwall fans last weekend.

Leeds United’s Patrick Bamford was reportedly subjected to spitting from Millwall fans on Saturday.
The Whites lost 2-1 at The Den and, according to Leeds Live, Bamford was given horrendous treatment by supporters of the London side after being substituted on 62 minutes.
To combat time wasting, new regulations force players to exit the field at the nearest possible location and then walk around the perimeter of the field to reach their dugout if they’re on the opposite side of the field.
This is what the Leeds hitman – a £10 million signing in 2018 [BBC Sport] – endured away to the Lions, and former England international Michael Owen believes that it’s a rule that should be scrapped.
Here’s how he reacted on Twitter:
The real common sense would be for referees to judge it on circumstance. If there was potential for the player to be subjected to what the Leeds star was last weekend, perhaps it’s best if the official allows the departing player to leave the field in the old fashion.
With the rivalry between the Elland Road club and Millwall, the home fans were never going to ignore Bamford and it’s that context which needs to be considered going forward.
