According to Sky Sports, Rooney is on the verge of returning to his former club Everton from Premier League rivals United in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that the England international forward has completed his medical with the Merseyside outfit.
Former Liverpool striker Owen has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to speculation that the 31-year-old, who can also operate as a midfielder, will join Everton this summer.
The former United man has also given his verdict on Belgium international striker Romelu Lukaku’s move from Everton to the Red Devils.
Rooney struggled for playing time at United last season, but the England international remains a quality player who would be a good signing for Everton.
The Toffees will be aiming to finish in the top six of the Premier League during the 2017-18 campaign.
